Van Halen II is every bit the classic their debut was. David Lee Roth's talent really shows here. From what I hear this album was recorded in less than a week! You wouldn't know it, as the songs sound masterfully crafted. Not one second seems rushed. Another fine cover tune opens the album,<BR>"You're no good" and gets things going in full throttle. "Dance the night away" with it's pleasant harmony reached the top 20. The feel-good chorus of "Bottoms up" never disappoints. Eddie showcases his acoustic chops on "Spanish fly" followed by the all-out rocker "Dead or alive". "Women in love" will lift you up during the dog days of summer. Capping it off is the classic "Beautiful girls" playful lyrics, Strong chorus, what's not to like? The songs on Van Halen II encapsulate the ultimate Summertime feel. This is a must-have. How can you give this album bad reviews????? VAN HALEN II is in my humble opinion a great hard rock album of all time. If you loved their debut, this album is just a good if not better. Micheal Anthony and Alex Van Halen have proven time and time again that they are one of the best rhythm sections of all time if not the best. David Lee Roth has great vocal abilities and can shout with the best of them or actually sing. And of course we have Eddie's great guitar work throughout this album. You want classic rock tunes to listen to, then this album will not disappoint. There isnt any filler on this album at all, just track after track of great rock music. I personally Love DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY, DOA, BEAUTIFUL GIRLS, hell I Love all the songs on this album. This album will blow you away and I recommend that you play this album loud the way rock music is meant to be played Terrific follow-up to a classic. The always tough task of following up any hit album is apparent throughout music. But what if that debut album is perhaps one of the top ten best albums of all time and not some 90's garabage, wannabe crap. Van Halen expands their musical range somewhat here, but still uses the same basic format that served them so well on VH1. Songs like "Outta Love Again", "D.O.A" and "Somebody Get Me A Doctor" aren't as memorable as "Runnin' With The Devil", "Ain't Talkin' Bout Love" and "Jammies Cryin", but they are still Truly great songs and album rock staples. To go along with that, VH actually shows more diversity on VH2 as they add pop songs like "Your No Good" and "Women In Love", a classic ballad in "Dance The Night Away" (which was the bands first real major hit, charting at no. 15) and even a tongue and cheek, pre pop metal song in "Beautiful Girls". Though VH2 is not quite as good as its predesescor, it is another classic album by any decent standard in the rock and roll cannon. Van Halen 2 is certainly well deserving of the nearly 6 million albums it sold in the U.S. alone.
