His range and control were phenomenal, and this CD displays his skills so beautifully. "Doggin Around" is still capable of bringing me to tears with the soulful quality of his voice..if you are a true soul fan, you will own this CD. Set volume higher and HIGHER! I'd give this collection five, maybe ten stars, but 'Chain Gang' is missing, which is utterly unforgivable! That being said, I think you'd be buying dynamite: Jackie Wilson was the greatest song-and-dance superstar (however underrated) that ever was! Poor Michael Jackson seems like a hoarse arthritic grandmother compared with this guy; I mean, what a performer! He could do EVERYTHING! Everything, that is, except Live a happy life... You, on the other hand, can. Don't you hear it ...'peaches'? The whisper's getting louder!: Stop lying to yourself, shed no more lonely teardrops, buy this CD right now and start getting the sweetest feelin'! (Yeah, I know, I sound like a TV commercial. Whaddaya want? There's no pity in the naked city!) The Very Best Of Jackie Wilson I first saw Jackie Wilson on TV in the late 1950's, and he knocked my socks off! He was my very favorite singer and his "Lonely Teardrops" was My Favorite song. "Talk That Talk" was another favorite, but then, all of Jackie's songs were special. He had the moves and he could wail and make the hair stand up on the back of my neck. I can't say many singers today affect me that way! This CD is the Cream of the crop and Brings back a lot of old memories. I miss Jackie Wilson, but his music is still available and sounds as good today as it did yesterday. Jackie was the real King of R&B and Soul. Buy Jackie Wilson Very Best Of at Amazon.com Buy posters at Allposters.comJamster - the latest ringtones for your phone! |
