| Holly Valance - Kiss Kiss Band: Holly Valance Brill debut! Holly Valance has come a long way. She started out on Neighbours and has moved onto the pop music scene. Sound like anyone else you know? Yes, Kylie Minogue. There has been lots of comparisons between Holly and Kylie. I reckon Holly is more talented and beautiful.<BR>Holly's debut is excellent! It's a cover of a catchy Turkish hit, and she's remade it very well. The music is infectious, the lyrics are cool and the video is shocking. It features a naked Holly with lights over her privates. But aside from that fact, the song is great. My only complaint is the way she runs her words together in the chorus. It's hard to understand what she's saying.<BR>If you are wondering which song on the single is the radio edit, it's the first one the Wise Buddhah mix. I was confused myself. The other remixes are cool, especially the Stargate one. <BR>Overall, this is a gusty, brill debut. Can't wait for Holly's next single! Excellent debut single!! Holly Valance managed to impress everyone in the UK when she reached number 1 back in April with "Kiss Kiss". Although she has a thin and delicate voice, this song is incredible! I am aware that it's a cover but I mean lets be honest, do you really think many people in England knew that? Holly's now made the Turkish song famous worldwide and has effectively helped Tarkan promote his career. Anyway, here is my track by track review of the mixes: Wise Buddah Mix- This is the version that was publicised and is known throughout the world. It's worn out a bit now as it was overplayed in England but I still think it was excellent debut! It has an Asian dance beat and sounds very frantic. 8/10 Jah Wobble Mix- This is an incredible Turkish-Arabic mix with all kinds of foreign instruments Present throughout the song. Holly doesn't sing very much but I guarantee you'll like this mix! 10/10 Agent Sumo Mix- This isn't as Asian sounding as the previous mixes but it still has an infectious dance beat. My only negative comment about this well polish dance track would be that it drags on quite alot using the same lyrics. 8/10 Stargate R and B Mix- This is a smoother version of the track and it indeed sounds very similar. I was suprised to find that this wasn't produced by The Neptunes- 'cos it sounds like a mix they'd do. This version would be better for a US release as it's less 'Euro dance' than the others. 9/10 Check out Holly's other singles "Down Boy" and "Naughty Girl"- they're fine examples of how pop music should be! This is just a copy on the turkish singer Tarkan's 1998 hit "Simarik" i were in turkey during that time and the song was played everywhere to later become a smash hit in the rest of Europe too. Even though it was in turkish it sold well casue it was a good catchy pop song with oriental influences. There is no need for Holly Valance to make a cover of it in english just a few years after. The lyrics are dull and the whole idea of it the song is annoying, Her next song called "Down Boy" really proves how much talent she got(Not). The mysterious "one hit wonder" has caused a new victim.
