| Garth Brooks - Garth Brooks and The Magic of Christmas Band: Garth Brooks Tracks: - It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year - Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! - Christmas Song - White Christmas - Baby Jesus Is Born - God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen - Winter Wonderland - Sleigh Ride - Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas - (There's No Place Like) Home for the Holidays - Silver Bells - Go Tell It on the Mountain - Wise Men's Journey [Instrumental] - O Little Town of Bethlehem Great Christmas CD. As you may know, Christmas CDs are about as rare as air molecules these days, but this one is one of the better ones around. As some other hostile reviewers wrote about how bad this CD is, and how he should stick to country music, and how they'd give it Zero stars if they could! (i Love that one!) I don't share their same feelings. Not too many people got mad at Vince Gills 1998 Christmas CD where he, too, pulled away from country a little. I believe that both of these men are very talented, and just have the ability to show it off. The best tracks are "Baby Jesus is Born" and "god Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen." The others are all more similer to Harry Connick, Jr than Garth Brooks, but no complaining here! Please do yourself a favor and get the CD in time for the holidays! Merry Christmas! A nice addition for your Christmas music library Having been disappointed at Garth for delving into this whole "Chris Gaines" schtick, it came as a great relief to see this CD released for the holiday season. These days it seems like anyone with a heartbeat is releasing a Christmas CD, and the result is an overcrowded field of marginal holiday music. Garth's, however, is a welcome addition. His versions of (mostly) Traditional Christmas songs are immaculately done. For the most part, Garth manages to avoid the "twang" in his vocals, and he is backed up wonderfully by a string section, choral group, and some very nice guitar work. However, where most artists compile similar backup musicians, Garth's is not overblown or overemoted. My Favorite track right now is "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen", which I think is one of the finer versions of that song that have ever been done. Heady words, I know, but it is very nice. If you buy only one Christmas CD this season, make it this one; you will Truly enjoy it. For the Garth Brooks fans, it's a great effort, and certainly a better addition to his catalog than the last couple CD's he has released. Get Beyond The Season, the first Garth Christmas Album Being a Garth nut who LOVES the first Christmas Album, "Beyond the Season", I was thrilled to hear that Garth had a new Christmas album. I rushed out and bought it and OH MY GOD, what an AWFUL album. I was SO dissapointed! The new stuff on this album doesn't gel. Garth's country voice doesn't Mesh well with the Big Band sound of these songs. It sounds like he "called it in". Also, he has RECYLED and rearranged many of the songs from the first Christmas album, "Beyond The Season". This album was a big dissapointment even for a BIG Garth Nut like me!
