| Face to Face - Ignorance Is Bliss Band: Face to Face Tracks: - Overcome - In Harm's Way - Burden - Everyone Hates a Know-It-All - Heart of Hearts - Prodigal - Nearly Impossible - I Know What You Are - Devil You Know (God Is a Man) - Pathetic - Lost - Run in Circles - Maybe Next Time A Great Album from a Great Band. This album, next to Refused's The Shape of Punk to Come, is one of the most riveting listening experiences for me over the last year. Trever, Chad, Scott, and new drummer Pete have assembled a record that stands on its own as a Strong release from an incredibly talented band. "Overcome," "I Know What You Are," "God is a Man," "Lost" and "Run in Circles" are the major standout tracks, incorporating dense guitar chords, beautiful harmonies, and poignant lyrics. While varying in tempo and mood, the album's power comes not only from the guitars and riffs, but Trever Keith's voice as well. While the more "punk" purists are having a hard time swallowing this apparent Change from the stereotypical "Pennywise" beat and punk rock posturing (as if Face to Face ever did this in the first place), fans of strong, energetic music that comes from the Heart will enjoy this record immensely. One of the best albums i have heard When I started listening to this CD, i was very surprised with the tempo of it. I was, of course, expecting to hear the same fast punk stuff of their last alnum, only better (since, in my opinion, they have gotten better with each album). No, it is not the same fast punk stuff, but i was right in that it is better. Sure, this is not punk music, but it is still incredible. If you just need to listen to the loud, fast rapping of drums and fast guitars, then this is not for you. But if you want amazing lyrics and good music, then buy it. Real FtF fans should not be disappointed, because if they were Truly fans, then they would like it for a FtF album, and not a punk album. And it's not true that they hav gone soft. they really do rock out in "God is a Man" and "(a)pathetic," two of the most amazing songs on the album. This album is great. Buy it now. Different is NOT better I anticipated the release of the new face to face studio album for 2 years. When I first put the disc into my cd player, my Heart sunk. I had feelings of Dread in the back of my mind ever since I read Trevers post on the web site about a "different" type of CD. I couldn't believe this was happening. I never heard of a Band changing their sound, in their prime. I guess you could say the Move took courage, but it wasn't a good idea. Although I have to admit there are several songs on the CD which are quite good, they're not interesting. The bottom line is that the reason face to face was so great is that they had their own niche in the world of music. They were the only Band that could write such great melodies with such amazing punk energy. This is why they were one of My Favorite bands. Now they're just another rock band. Weather the songs are good or not, there's something missing. Buy Face To Face Ignorance Is Bliss at Amazon.com Buy posters at Allposters.comJamster - the latest ringtones for your phone! |
