| Fabolous - Ghetto Fabolous Band: Fabolous Tracks: - Click & Spark - Keepin' It Gangsta - Young'n - Get Right - Ride For This (feat. Ja Rule) - One Day - Trade It All (feat. Jagged Edge) - Right Now & Later On - Take You Home (feat. Lil' Mo) - Get Smart - Can't Deny It (feat. Nate Dogg) - Ma' Be Easy - We Don't Give A - The Bad Guy (feat. Pain In Da Ass) you could do a lot worse than this As an avid lover of everything hip hop, I am not afraid to say that I like all types of hip hop music...
Brought to you by the man who loves to spell his name (F A B O L O U S), this album is obviously nowhere near classic status, but it is club joint heaven. It starts of with "Click & Spark", produced by Clue & Duro, a decent neck breaker to get things started. Then comes the street single "Keepin' It Gangsta" (produced again by Clue & Duro). Another head nod but with more of a shake ...feel to it.
This album is at its jiggiest when Clue and Duro take a back seat from production. The Timbaland produced "Right Now & Later On" sees Fabolous spitting the usual playeristic lyrics over a catchy beat with a nice B line. "Can't Deny It" is the Rick Rock (Jay-Z's "Change The Game") produced single that put Fab. on the map. Another money Cash & hoes track that features King of hooks, Nate Dogg, showing people how a hook should be sung. The best to tracks on the album though are (for the clubs) "Get Right" produced by Rockwilder, and (for the heads) "One Day" produced by newcomer Omen, which has Fabolous spitting about the trials and tribulations of growing up and the pearls of wisdom that his parents gave him, over a nice deep kick and a simple piano loop.
My only gripe (theres always one) on this album is the Neptunes produced joint (I am not afraid to say that I Love their stuff either). Entitled "Young'n", it is probably the only misstep they've made all year (even though for some reason it gets quite a bit of airplay stateside). There are the usual fillers. "Ride For This" featuring Ja Rule being the best example. If "Trade It All" featuring Jagged Edge was a bit faster it would be ideal for the clubs. If your girlfriend has been a bit thirsty since Ma$e saw the light, if you've got a younger brother or sister who thinks that "The Real Slim Shady" is the best track ever made or you just need some light relief (and I do mean light), you could do a lot worse than this. YOU'RE GON' BANG THIS RIGHT NOW AND LATER ON!!!... Yo this is Hella tight, The F-A-B-O-L-O-U-S really delivers with his first solo LP. If you think the first 2 singles Can't Deny it (featuring Nate D-O-double gizzie) and Youngin' Holla back were poppin' then you won't be disapointed be the rest of da tracks! Fabolous said on 106 and Park that he tried to make this album as Dope as possible and it paid off fa sho!!! Haters always be talkin that it's too commercial and not creative but thats all some ...! This album is loaded wit creative and original joints. The tightest tracks on here that haven't been released as singles yet are Ride 4 This ( featuring Ja Rule) , Take Ya Home wit Lil Mo, Right Now and Later On, One Day and Trade It All wit Jagged Edge whitch both show The F-A-B-O's softer, less gangsta side. Pick this joint up if you like the 2 singles, this is a hot...album!!! Great job Fabolous!!!... This CD is F-A, B-O, L-O, U-S I've been a Fabolous fan since I first heard him on DJ Clue's The Professional (Part 1). Since then, I have been trying to get all of his songs and freestyles. I was excited when I first heard that this album was droppin. You just know that this CD would be good when you have a great lyricist (Fabolous), a well-known name (Ja Rule), one of the top R&B groups (Jagged Edge) & the man who has a ton of guest spots (Nate Dogg). And that is only the artists....producing you have The Neptunes, Timbaland, DJ Clue, Rockwilder, DJ Envy & Duro. This equals success already. Fabolous has tight lyrics on the album, and at times you gotta pause the CD to try to understand it. The beats are tight, and you can easly listen to the whole album in entirety. This is an interesting CD because the themes of the songs Change from track to track, yet you gotta like em all. This CD has some of the best beats I've ever heard and the thing that maes them really good is that Fabolous doesn't seem to be fighting the music, he just flows perfectly with it. His voice is one that can be put to any beat and it still sounds good. Below is my track rating (1-5)
Click & Spark: 4
Keepin It Gangsta: 4.5
Young'n: 5
Get Right: 4
Ride For This: 5++
One Day: 5
Trade It All: 4.5
Right Now & Later on: 3.5
Take You Home: 4
Get Smart: 5++
Can't Deny It: 5
Ma Be Easy: 4
We Don't Give A: 3.5
The Bad Guy: 4 Also included on this CD are 3 bonus tracks (one of which is 15 seconds of silence), the music video to Can't Deny It & Enhanced CD software.
