This album is actually not new, i have had it for over 2 years (I have the Japanes and Australian versions). I believe that Sony/Epic is trying to milk the 80's Band thing that is getting so much hype these days in the press (with the other gender bender & 80's bands touring: i.e Culture Club, and Duran Duran). Anyhoo... about the disc: it rocks, it's very HI NRG and the "boys" have progressed on to a much more deeper and sophisticated sound (God Love technology). The song "Sex Drive" was actually a side project done by Pete Burns about 4 years ago in a "band" called Glam. Other tracks on the CD, such as "Unhappy Birthday" was originally released in 1990 as a Japanese Import, "Fan The Flame, Part 1". The "Flame" CD is awesome but not dancey, its very melancholy and almost all songs are torch songs (who hurt you so bad Pete?). Anyways, I am a HUGE fan of Dead Or Alive and nothing they do can disappoint me, but this CD is awesome with its intense beats and Pete's burlesques-style singing... it is totally different from the 80's sound they used to have. Pete Burns's Drag Queen look, and there dance tracks with a bit of that 80's new wave sound. They have remixed there 85 hit "Spin Me Round" and made it a new club favorite! I have listened to this CD so much, it is starting to skip, so I am planning on buying a new copy soon! If you like dance music, if you like dead or alive, OR if you like both, this CD is for you! Go ahead and buy the CD now, you won't regret it! Superb hi-energy dance music! Years after the masterpiece "Nude" Dead or Alive is back with another collection of literate, hi-energy dance trax. Standout songs are: Sex Drive, Picture This (a Blondie cover), and Unhappy Birthday, though 2 remixes of You Spin Me Round are here too, for the unenlightened who still think of DOA as a one-hit wonder! Why did the USA have to wait two years for this album, when it was breaking sales records in Japan??
