First, Cypress Hill are pioneers of Latin West Coast rap music. With their repetitive, catchy beats (courtesy of producer DJ Muggs), and violent and narcotic (but fun) lyrics from Sen Dogg and B-Real, this album will remain ageless. Second, the sound-quality on this release is borderline-awful, and more than a few people may not be able to hear anything but profanity in the rapper's somewhat high voices. Third, this album is full of standout tracks, from the hardcore appeal of "How I Could Just Kill A Man" and "Hand On The Pump", to the jazzy sounding "Funky Cypress Hill Shit" and "Latin Lingo". The beats are a lot like The Rza at times, without the complexity. DJ Muggs is one of hip-hop's greatest beatmakers without a question. If you enjoy this, I would also recommend Method Man's "Tical", and Big Pun's "Yeeeah Baby". Rating: 4 stars A Classic To Say The Least Still Goin' Strong After 10+ Years And On The Verge Of A New Abum "Stoned Raiders",I'd To Remind People Of Their First Album,It Will Be And Has Bein'Enjoyed By Rap Fans It Needs To Be In Your Collection And If It's Not Put It There.It Kicks Of With The Opening Song "Pigs" Right To Classics "Hand On The Pump","Hole In The Head" To Their Very First Single "The Phunky Feel One" And Onto Funky Grooves Like "Latin Lingo".My Favourite Tracks On This Album Are "How I Could Just Kill A Man" And "Hand On The Pump".I Wouldnt Just Recommend This Album I'd Recomend Cypress Hill In General As All The Albums They Brought Out So Far Are Brilliant And I Hope This Continues For A Extemely Long Time. The Hill's best album. This is the first and, in my opinion, best album from Cypress Hill. Mad props go to Muggs for his unbelievably delicious production...the sampling and the straight up beats are uncomparable. They really get going with HAND ON THE PUMP and STONED IS THE WAY OF THE WALK. Then they take off on LATIN LINGO and TRES EQUIS. These Spanglish and Spanish raps are just so unique...I listen to these songs over and over. This is a classic album and a must have for any rap fan. Go out and get your hit now!
