| Children of Bodom - Something Wild Band: Children of Bodom Tracks: - Deadnight Warrior - In the Shadows - Red Light in My Eyes, Pt. 1 - Red Light in My Eyes, Pt. 2 - Lake Bodom - Nail - Touch Like Angel of Death Fathers of Unbelievable Music Children of Bodom was introduced to me by a friend of mine. After listening to Samples from each CD, I purchased all three immediately. Children uses incredible guitar with keyboards in a way that I never thought could be possible. The guitar solos that we all Love from any kind of metal are present, but the keyboards are used for reinforcement at times which gives an almost perfect result. My Favorite songs are "Red Light in My Eyes, Pt. 1" and "Touch Like Angel of Death." With a review that contains only praise, one might ask why Something Wild only received 4 stars. Actually, it is probably closer to 4.5. There are two things that annoy me to no end. The first is the fact that the CD is not very long track-wise. Second, the cover of "Mass Hypnosis," originally by Sepultura, is only included on the Japanese version. After managing to hear this song, I deeply regret that The Band did not include this song on the U.S. release. Of course, neither of these reasons is good for basing a purchasing decision upon. I do suggest that this album be purchased, as I doubt that there will be any disappointment. GET THIS CD!!!!! This CD is truely a great. The first major release from a truely great metal band. Well first off, let me say that CoB arent NOT Death metal! Just because they have raspy vocals doesnt make them Death metal. They are more Black metal than death. If you wanna hear real Death metal listen to Opeth, Nile, Dismember, Death, or something similar. If you listen to any of those bands you will see the difference and notice that CoB sound very different. Well anyway, this album still rules... 1. Deadnight Warrior (9/10) - This is a great opener, really gets you going when you first put it on. Also the first single off the album I believe. 2. In The Shadows (10/10) - This is the best song on the whole album in my oppinion. Never a dull moment here, just great guitar work, speed, and intensity \m/ 3. Red Light in My Eyes, Pt. 1 (9/10) - Excellent song, also some amazing guitar work. 4. Red Light in My Eyes, Pt. 2 (8/10) - This is a really intense one, with some great vocals. 5. Lake Bodom (9.5/10) - Another bodom masterpiece. 6. Nail (8/10) - Great song. Excellent keyboard work here done by Mr.Wirman. 7. Touch Like Angel Of Death (9/10) - Another great, really has a dark feel to it. So in average this CD gets a 9, and thats pretty god**** good. I also highly recommened getting Hatebreeder and Follow The Reaper, and also their newest album Hate Crew Deathroll when it comes out, Im sure it will be kick***. ....... IN THE WHOLE WIDE UNIVERSE OF STRANGE AND DIVERSE MUSICAL CRAPINESS, BODOM HAS MANAGED TO REALESE ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS I HAVE EVER HEARD. BODOM'S UNIQUE BLEND OF MELODIC LEADS COUPLED WITH "SWEEPING" SOLOS HAS SET THE STANDARD FOR ALL OF MY MUSICAL SELECTIONS! ..........
