For the novice, you get good tracks, but more importantly, a great overview of the group's first decade of recordings, enough to stimulate you to buy specific albums. Each album is previewed by 2 tracks at most. Also note that tracks 1 and 4 are taken from their Live "At Budokan" effort. Not spectacular, but a great sampler...
