Mediocre Celine Album

I purchased this album today, several months after the initial release date. I have been a major Celine Dion fan since her early days. Most of the albums she made I have in my cd collection. One Heart is a so-so album. Many of the songs seem aimed towards the younger MTV crowd. I think she may have alienated much of her older, more mature fans with this album. Ever since she released A New Day Has Come, Celine has changed her vocal style too much. Much of the "Classic Celine Sound" has disappeared from her music. Songs that represent her unique vocal style like Power of Love, All By Myself, Beauty and the Beast, and My Heart Will Go On, etc. have vanished from her last two albums. Lots of fluff and filler music on this album. The best track is still probably Track #1- I Drove All Night which is doing very well on the current pop charts. Very well deserved since the song has a very good beat and rhythm. The 2nd best song I think is Faith. This should be released as her next single. It has a very catchy chorus and has a good tempo. I did enjoy Stand By Your Side. Most of the other songs are on the dull side. Many people have commented on liking One Heart, but I found the song to be a bit nauseating for me. The two other new ballads In His Touch and I Know What Love Is are ok, but a little too slow for my tastes. Overall, I would give this effort 3 out of 5 stars. I want the old Celine back.

Sheer Brilliance...

After taking a two year hiatus, and returning with "A new day has come", what most of the music industry considered to be a collection of trashy pop and lame attempt to Move into the contemporary times, Celine returns with "One Heart", the album she probably should have released on her return to singing.
Throughout the course of the album, Celine Dion, the singer who has sold a combined total of more than 150 million albums over the past decade, again proves her talent and superstar status particularly when compared to dive minutes Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston, with the ability to showcase and sing a variety of different styles and genres. While she has only included a minimal number of her signature ballads which we've come to know her for with classics such as "My Heart wil go on" and "Because You Loved Me", (In his Touch, I know What Love is, Je'Taime Encore) which have been done to perfection, she does an excellent job with her new upbeat , tempo songs which are sure to appeal to a younger fan base, which she has been unsuccessful in doing for quite some time.
Celine's rendition of "I drove all night" is brilliant, and it quite effectively showcases Celine's vocal power and the voice which has made her undoubtedly the most successful recording Artist of our time.
While the album has been reduced in length compared to her previous albums as well the inclusion of "Have you ever been in love" and "Sorry For Love" from her previious recording, the album is still inspiring and is worth every minute of Dion's time, sincerity and effort. This album is sure to sell millions across the globe, even though it wont go on to sell in excess of 30 million copies as did "Lets Talk about Love" and "Falling Into You", which were two of the biggest selling Albums the world has seen. Overall, this album is outstanding, inspiring, soulful and encompassed with Celine's brilliant voice, making it a must buy.

A Bold New Sound for the Best Selling Female Of All Time

In the 14 track 'One Heart', Celine offers 12 all new tracks PLUS 'Have You Ever Been In Love', and an all new version of 'Sorry For Love'. The new tracks lay new ground for Celine, offering a low key and much more emotional look into her. Songs like 'Reveal' and 'Naked' are offered for Celine's more mature fans and 'Forget Me Not' is an offering for all those beloved mothers out there. 'In His Touch' and 'I Know What Love Is' will surely satisfy fans who want to hear Celine's staple Ballads and 'Love Is All We Need' is a great dance track reminiscent of some of Prince's work. 'Je T'aime Encore' is a beautiful ENGLISH track unlike any Celine has ever done. In my opinion, the most amazing song on the CD would have to be 'Stand By Your Side' as Celine shows more restraint and emotion than ever before. All in all, 'One Heart' fits easily in most music fans collection, even those who aren't Celine Fans. COMPLETE tackslisting :
1. Drove All Night
2. Love Is All We Need
3. Faith
4. In His Touch
5. One Heart
6. Stand By Your Side
7. Naked
8. Sorry For Love (2003 Version)
9. Have You Ever Beeen In Love
10. Reveal
11. Coulda Woulda Shoulda
12. Forget Me Not
13. I Know What Love Is
14. Je T'aime Encore
