| Bon Jovi - These Days Band: Bon Jovi Tracks: - Hey God - Something For The Pain - This Ain't A Love Song - These Days - Lie To Me - Damned - My Guitar Lies Bleeding In My Arms - (It's Hard) Letting You Go - Hearts Breaking Even - Something To Believe In - If That's What It Takes - Diamond Ring The Best Album Of The World! What to say about "These Days"? In my opinion this is the best album recorded by Bon Jovi.
It has Love songs as in every Bon Jovi's albums and they sounds very good.
"Lie To Me" is a beautiful song, where Richie Sambora makes the backing vocals and play a clean guitar solo. Other great ballad I think is "My Guitar Lies Bleeding In My Arms" (but the tittle of this song is very long, isn't it?). The way Tico Torres plays is very nice! Just hit-hat in the verses, until the song get distortions guitars. The way the guitar ends the solo is very beautiful (the whole solo is very beautiful) and it fits with next verse. The harmonic in the last chorus is very cool!
"Damned" is a great song. I Love its riff! And instead of this riff is in many parts of this song, this is not boring! It gives a special feeling to this song!
I like very much "Something To Believe In". It's um second-favorite-song of this album. Here is nice too, the way Tico Torres plays .He got a different style for this song and I really Love it! The guitars in the solo are very beautiful, the synchronism between them, and the way every one goes. At the final of the solo they are in the same chord and you really can hear 2 guitars making the same! It's great! The backing vocals made by Richie Sambora fits very well here. In many songs, he sings with his soul and it's wonderful, it's fantastic!
My fave song is "Hey God". It's My Favorite Bon Jovi's song. As many songwriters use to say, this is a song I would want to have wrote! The lyrics are excellent! I got nothing to Talk 'bout this song, 'cause it's perfect! No backing vocals sounds very good. The 2 guitars walking by different ways on the final guitar solo is cool too!
"Something For The Pain" and "These Days" are songs I like so much, and it's interesting to listen those many times to understand them.
This album has good songs, and they fit into themselves.
"These Days" is an album I recommend! You will not regret if you listen this! Not for the average Bon Jovi fan Ok I admit it. I've been a Bon Jovi fan for years. When i bought this album it blew me away. I Love all of their work. I have all of their stuff. BUT I always seem to come back to this album. I listen to all the Bon Jovi and Solo Efforts. I even own all the import stuff. BUT this album, just hits home. From the opening, "Hey God" as well as The fourth track "These Days" talking about life in modern times and tought on God. The Darker sounding Ballard of "This ain't a Love song". To the thought provoking "Damned" about cheating. I belieave if you Love music you will Love these songs. There isn't one song I would have changed. It's a GREAT ALBUM! If i had to pick one album to listen to for the rest of my life this would be it!! Atleast give it a shot. Try it for yourself I don't think you'll be dissapointed. Quiet Classic Let's make one thing clear: "These Days" is a great record. It may be heavy and lacking in the sort of Arena exuberance that made Bon Jovi famous, but this is an unforgettable record. People looking for chart-topping singles may not like this album. "These Days" is a hard-hitting album. Even the 'up' songs like "Something For the Pain" and "Damned" have a tight lyrical backlash that should have proven once and for all that Bon Jovi is a spectacular band, capable of writing songs that are powerful, Ironic and inspiring. The heavy title track, an irresistable mix of hard-nosed realism and wide-eyed idealism is a momumental song. A painful "Lie To Me" falls close behind (but not until the listener has been in enough Love to 'get' the intent.) Even throwaways like "If That's What It Takes" hold a firm grip on the listener, written with character and substance. "These Days" is not "Slippery When Wet." It's a darker, more intense Bon Jovi. It's probably not an album for everyone. But for those of us who grew up with this Band (socially speaking) "These Days" is a frightening Reflection of the angst and pathos a lot of us feel. In many ways the title "This Ain't A Love Song" resonates more in the context of the entire record than it does on its own.
