Cleverly Organic Mixed Ingredients

This is a great CD, in my opinion This new member Fergie is OK,I think she tries a little bit too hard when she's on stage. I'm partial to the original fellas they're who I fell in Love with in 1998. They're talented on their own why add this new chic? But I guess I'll give her a chance, she does have chops...The album is eclectic, if you're not into this genre of hip-hop It may take you a while to get it. These are let's have a good time songs mixed with a little rock, salsa, old-school something for everyone to enjoy, and it's something that younger kids can listen to they're a pretty clean descent group. The songs on this album are just good ole make ya wanna dance music. If you've ever seen the Live you know what I'm talkin' 'bout! If you haven't check them out when they come to your town.

Totally phunky

Wow, this album is one of those CDs that you keep on repeat in your CD player. BEP is easily one of the most versatile and lyrically amazing hip hop groups out there. I was a little hesitant about Fergie, the new member, when I saw her on the cover, but those doubts were taken care of within the first few tracks- she's AWESOME! "The Boogie That Be" and "Hey Mama" are great tracks.
Her vocals add even more variation to an already well-rounded group. I always liked when they collaborated with Esthero, and now their rhymes have even more musical flourishes and touches.
There will always be "fans" out there who say "Man, their older albums were better," but I think Elephunk is just as good as "Bridging the Gap" and "Behind the Front." Think of it as a trilogy of phunk, y'all.
Get this album if you like your hip hop real phunky and stinky.

Black Eyed Peas did it again!

Old school hip-hop revived using real instruments and very basic mixes. It's St-Jean Baptiste here in Quebec so I was lucky to find this CD in a opened local CD store in my town. Just by cover, you could tell that there was a big change, BEP has expended a lot they musical horizon. This time a lot more trumpet is being used to give a more dominant sound and there's as plenty of bass for old Black Eyed Peas enthousiasts. They addition of pop singer Fergie gives them are sound that should be more appreciated than on Fronting The Back or Bridging The Gap. Most titles given to the song really give us a good idea of the song's mood, it's highly emotional and integer, just like jamming session. There's better guitar than on the previous CDs but on a negative side, the melody doesn't very too much in a song and it can get repetitive. I just heard it one time but I'll give my appreciation on all songs another time... for those who aren't sure about the BEP-Papa Roach collaboration, well it turned out really nice!!!
