The textures of music and rhythm are deep, the ensemble is tight, the harmonies sweet, and they play with infectious joy and delight. I'm honored to have my music represented on this recording! Can you believe this group is in Iowa?!! At first, I was skeptical about an Iowa-based Band that called its music "latin jazz," but Ashanti really does deliver. This CD offers a good mix of high-quality music, and the Latin flavor is much more authentic than I imagined it might be. Songs are well-written, the music is tight, the production is professional, and the percussion tracks are rock solid. It's so good, I'm purchasing several copies for gifts for my Iowa friends! ... Latin Jazz At Its Best I would not normally have considered myself a fan of jazz, but this Band has forced me to Change my mind. Their music makes you want to get up and dance, whether you know how to salsa or not. From Santana-esque tunes to slower ballads, the music on this cd grabs your soul. The talent of these musicians is incredible, and they will certainly turn many more people's interest toward latin jazz. This is a cd that should not be missed!
