| Alice Cooper - The Last Temptation Band: Alice Cooper Tracks: - Sideshow - Nothing's Free - Lost In America - Bad Place Alone - You're My Temptation - Stolen Prayer - Unholy War - Lullaby - It's Me - Cleansed By Fire THE GREAT TEMPTATION Die hard fans might hate me for saying this, but this is Alice Cooper's hard rock masterpiece! This is a fantastic album, yeah it's not as raw and bluesy as his 70's albums nor is the story eeire or bizarre as his late 70's/early 80's records went. Alice shows he still has what it takes to be alive and heard in the mid-90's. This cd is filled with great lyrics and music, albeit, most with the help of Outside songwriters and studio musicians, that won't even bother you after listening to the first track Sideshow. It rocks, and never lets up from there. The cool-singin' Alice shows up on Nothing Free and turns anthematic on track 3 Lost in America. A teen-age anthem. All-in-all a great concert album, and every song is a story initself, making it great for singles. As a bonus, Chris Cornell, formerly of Soundgarden, writes a track, co-writes a track, and sings back-up on Stolen Prayer. A nice added touch. Rock on Alice, I can't wait for you're next record. The best album of the 90's!!! This is probably the best improved studio album that the Coop ever made! In highschool I was the biggest Alice Cooper fan! "Hey Stoopid" and "Trash" were only half-cooked efforts, but this album sounds alot like the stuff he used to sing back in the 70's. The music on this album was based on the 3-part comic book series "The Last Temptation", which Alice plays an evil theatre showman on Halloween night! The comic books are awesome! Way to go Alice! My favourite songs on this album are "It's Me", "You're My Temptation"(the additional vocals sounds like the late Kurt Kobain singing!), "Lullaby", "Stolen Prayer"and "Bad Place Alone." I sure hope that this isn't his last studio album since that alot of kids are now listening to Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie. He's mostly golfing these days, but I'm sure he'll make another studio effort! I'm seeing him this September the 11th in concert, 10th row, and I know that I'll enjoy his show!!!Long Live the shock rock king!!!!!!!!!! Alice returns to the Nightmare! The Last Temptation is Alice's 90's answer to Welcome to My Nightmare. Temptation is not as tight conceptually as Nightmare, and the selections work well as a collection of individual songs. Alice puts more blood and sweat into this one, probably more than any project he's been involved with since the '70s. I Love a good half of the album, and only a couple of tracks are less than pleasing. My faves are "Nothing's Free," complete with old school Alice speak-singing, "Stolen Prayer," backing vocals by Chris Cornell, and "Cleansed by Fire," simply one heck of a catchy tune. Of course, there's "Lost In America" which was endorsed at the time by Beavis and Butthead, and could have served as their theme song! <BR> If I have one complaint, it would be the band. Not that they're bad, but Alice hasn't had a group with same players on back to back albums for a while now. Stef Burns is back from "Hey Stoopid," but otherwise we get the usual revolving-door musicians. (Maybe Alice should Call Tony Iommi, haha!) Also, when you see six people given writing credits on a song, you really wonder just how much imput Alice actually had in all this. Small gripes though, the music manages to overcome whatever the circumstances. The Last Temptation stands as one of Alice's better albums, and doesn't feel as calculated as the '80s cheese metal "Trash" nor the 2000 trend metal of "Brutal Planet."
