| Aerosmith - Just Push Play Band: Aerosmith Tracks: - Beyond Beautiful - Just Push Play - Jaded - Fly Away From Here - Trip Hoppin' - Sunshine - Under My Skin - Luv Lies - Outta Your Head - Drop Dead Gorgeous - Light Inside - Avant Garden Keeps you psychodelasized! First off, I'm not one to look at artists and compare their works over their career. Times change, people Change and so do their music. It's hard to compare early drug induced Aerosmith with the new, cleaner, wiser, Aerosmith. I'm not saying they should go back to drugs either. The music then is classic now, and the music now will be classic in years to come.

As for this CD, they make a very solid album with a mixture of wild hard rock, as only Aerosmith can do it, mixed with power rock ballads that never get old, as only Aerosmith can do them. Now, of course this CD is no Get Your Wings or Toys in the Attic, but it stands alone as certainly a gem.

The best songs (or at least my favorite) are Beyond Beautiful, Just Push Play, Jaded, Trip Hoppin', Luv Lies, Avant Garden, Outta Your Head. Excellently written, played and produced songs that will become radio friendly smashes and video music staples.

Sunshine, Drop Dead Gorgeous and any other song I didn't name could either be better or would make a good B-Side; they're not bad, but nothing to brag about.

All in all, it's a great album and I recommend you buy it. Whether your a casual fan or a Aero-fanatic you will enjoy this album (or at least the good songs). If I disliked "Nine Lives"..... Many reviews of this album I've read so far compared it to either "Nine Lives" or "Pump", which I think is a good way to describe the general impression. I consider "Pump" one of rock's finest ever and "Nine Lives", though not everyone liked it, is, because of personal memories linked to it, my favourite "after-drug" Aerosmith album. Now we have "Just Push Play" and all the songs were co-written by Marty Frederiksen and Mark Hudson who already heavily influenced the sound on "Nine Lives", so, everyone who liked songs as "Something's Gotta Give", "Attitude Adjustment" and "Taste of India" will find that type of sound and arrangement in "Under my skin" and "Outta your head", especially in "Beyond Beautiful", a great opener that will please old fans as well as "newbies" from the "Get A Grip" era. People reading reviews to know whether to buy it or not shouldn't worry about the "modern influences" on tracks like "Outta Your Head" or the title song, it sounds "modern", definitely, but to me there's a logical development from "Walk This Way" through "Last Child", the "Eat The Rich" intro to these new tracks, it's not a shock listening to them the first time. Even if you don't like the way "Nine Lives " sounded, there's still enough material that comes close to the "Pump" era: Great chorus, hooklines and a classic rock station feeling. "Jaded" is an instant classic, ranking only liitle below tunes as "Janie" and "Luv Lies" gets close to "What It Takes", so people who liked either "Pump" or "Nine Lives" will most probably like this one, too, to me it is a good mixture of both albums Strong elements though not exactly reaching them in its entirety. There's more to come, I hope, the only thing I would wish for future albums is Tom Hamilton and Brad Whitford who co- penned songs as '"Last child", " Janie" or "Sweet emotion" again included in the song- writing process, I don't see much sense in using a song that even Tyler/Perry didn't write ("Fly Away From Here", by far not the best), while the rest of The Band hasn't been credited since Pump, that's the only thing I worry about; for anything else, go get it, they still got it!!!! One of the best CDs you could buy! - AeroFan1 I am a long-time aerosmith fan. I received Permenant Vacation as a birthday Present in 1987( i was 7 ) and they've been My Favorite Band ever since. I have all their CDs, even the less impressive ones. I Truly believe that "Just Push Play" is another aero-triumph. Steve and Joe have created 12 new sounds for 12 new songs and they all rock. It disturbs me that some reviewers claim that this CD is a pop-rock albulm. Anyone who listens to it with an open ear will realze that this is NOT a pop albulm - it is an edgey, gritty, unique Aerosmith album with the same engery as their very early recordings like "Rocks" or "Get your Wings." However, it does have a very modern sound. True 'smith fans will grow and Change with the times just as Aerosmith's music does. My Favorite tracks are "Sunshine"( an instant classic and true fan-favotite) and "Beyond beautiful." PS Anyone with a surround-sound System should pop this CD in and give it a listen - the orchestal sound to each song is simply Amazing.
