Greatest album ever!

Even though "Toys In The Attic" and "Rocks" made the critics drool over Aerosmith, it was Truly "Get Your Wings" that put them on the map. With its mid 70's hard rock guitar Joe Perry And Brad Whitford defined a generation of guitar players with their blistering riffs on songs like "Same Old Song And Dance," "S. O. S. (Too Bad)," and "Woman Of The World." Joey Kramers drums insink with Tom Hamilton's insane bass rhythms on all the songs but most evident on songs like "Lord Of The Thighs," and "S. O. S." Steven Tylers Vocals are always Present and mind blowing. "Pandora's Box"- Joey Kramers greatest song wrighting venture, not to mention his first. Aerosmiths lost classic "Train Kept A Rollin'" appears on this album as a half studio half-live song (which no one has ever done before or since!). Aerosmith re-made "Train Kept A Rollin'" as it was originally made by their greatest musical influence The Yardbirds/ This album gives host to, Two hit singles Steven Tylers "Seasons Of Wither" and the top 30 hit "Same Old Song And Dance." so please buy this album, because out of the 879 CD's I own this is my all time favorite album!

Another solid effort

GET YOUR Wings is the second album from AEROSMITH and it shows an improvement over the debut. Well still sounding raw and gritty, The Band seems to have started to find the groove. SAME OLD SONG AND DANCE, kicks off the album and it is a very fast paced rocking song that has great rhythms and horns to it and has been a fan favorite since the beginning. LORD OF THE THIGHS, SPACED, Train KEPT A ROLLIN, SEASONS OF WITHER, WOMAN OF THE WORLD are also songs that deserve a good listen to. This album is still raw and gritty and newer fans might find it hard to groove to, but this is The Band at its best. The music has a sort of sleazy, down and dirty feeling to it that is missing from rock today. This is how music should be, unpolished yes, but this is far from being a [weak] album. So I think that this should be in any rock fans collection.

Sophomore effort from Boston's bad Boys worth every penny

The second album from Boston's bad Boys find Aerosmith finding their groove; songs like "Lord Of The Thighs," "Woman Of The World" and AOR staple "Same Old Song And Dance" find the Quintet rocking in serious fashion. Whereas The Band was finding their Wings on their debut record, their sophomore effort shows the benefit of playing so many Live shows in support of their debut.
Their cover of the Yardbird's "Train Kept A Rollin'" has become a Live staple, but there's much more on this album that warrants attention. Tyler's wistful ballad "Seasons Of Wither" is still a great Live tune, and lead guitarist Joe Perry shines on songs like "Spaced" and "S.O.S. (Too Bad)," which is written in a key (G#) not commonly found on rock records.
Though the band's best work was yet to come (Rocks, Night In The Ruts), this album put them squarely on the map as a rock and roll force to be reckoned with. Album closer "Pandora's Box" is a Summer rock classic that winds things up in dramatic fashion. If you dig Aerosmith, you'll Love this record. Buy it now.
