You do not already own an album with "Mr. Roboto"? The "Greatest Hits of 1983" is certainly better than the '82 collection from the Class Reunion series. Is there some sort of rule they have to have an ABC song on each album? Just curious. The Focus leans a bit towards New Wave, which is certainly appropriate for that time in music history. The big three songs here are "Come on Eileen," "Maniac," and "Mr. Roboto," which might be something of a problem because if you have a serious music library you should already have at least one of those tracks already (you know you should have all three). Then again, there is always something to be said for any collection that can bring together Bananarama and Rita Coolidge. It ends up being The Moody Blues that seem a bit out of place on this one, especially since "Sitting at the Wheel" is not exactly the song that comes to mind when you think of their brief revival early in the 1980s. Of course, I did not graduate in 1983, so I do not want to step on anybody's high school memories with my wry commentary. Just look over these 11 tracks and if you can find a minimum of 5 that jolt your synapses in a good way and are not yet part of your music collection, then go ahead, pick this puppy up, and take it for a walk on a short leash. Excellent Collection of 80's Hits This collection of 80's hits covers some new wave (ABC, Big Country, Dexty's Midnight Runner's, Bananarama) as well as rock (Styx, Rainbow, Moody Blues, etc) plus some others such as ex-Abba singer Frida's "There's something going On" and Rita Coolidge's "All time High". Many of these songs were played on rotation on MTV so many people will hear the songs and picture the video as well. I know I did! Great song selection for 80's music lovers! This is a GREAT album I think this album is great, because it has all these great 80's songs, from Mr. Robato to Maniac all these songs are awesome.
